Human beings are dicks sometimes.
Ugh, another reason why I hate civilization.
I don’t think civilization is bad thing keeping mind that where wild animals still exist there is civilization and before the spread of capitalist civilization animal life was not endangered as it is now.You were born of civilization and your ability look at it and say this is wrong and we should make changes here is one way of being civilized. Civilization and exploitation don’t mean the same thing.I think the way animals are treated and the way the environment is dying (not to mention the numerous injustices around the world)is a sign of our current “civilization” failing.Lets hope for a civilization where humans are more environmentally aware and compassionate to animal, and each other. And responsible in their treatment to the environment.
“In one sense we know much less about Earth than we do about Mars. The vast majority of life forms on our planet are still undiscovered, and their significance for our own species remains unknown. This gap in our knowledge is a serious matter: we will never completely understand and preserve the living world around us at our present level of ignorance.
“If all mankind were to disappear, the world would regenerate back to the rich state of equilibrium that existed ten thousand years ago. If insects were to vanish, the environment would collapse into chaos.”
