The Karamojong are one of the few remaining ethnic groups living primarily pastoralist lifestyles in Uganda. They stay mainly in the north-eastern region and are said to be closely related to the Maasai (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maasai_people and, also, with whom I’ve lived with previously). They’re known for being some tough cookies. They do their own thing and have pretty much no interest in giving up their traditions in favor of becoming “Westernized.”
