We ordinary people can see neither our own eyelashes, which are so close, nor the heavens in the distance. Likewise, we do not see that the Buddha exists in our own hearts.

This is my favorite line from my favorite Gosho. A Gosho is a writing by Nicherien Daishonin who was a Buddhist that re-interpreted the Lotus Sutra. He wrote people letters to ordinary people telling them they could practice Buddhism at home and that everyone was capable of being a Buddha. He transcribed the ultimate truths of the Lotus Sutra to create the Dia-Gohonzon.

My first meeting was a New Years meeting almost four years ago. I hope to have a great year.I hope to learn more about myself like I did this year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!

Only in the Lotus Sutra do we read that a woman who embraces this sutra not only excels all other women, but also surpasses all men.

Even if we should gather all the water of the four great oceans to wet inkstones, burn all the trees and plants to cinders to make ink, collect the hairs of all beasts for writing brushes, employ all the surfaces of the worlds in the ten directions for paper, and, with these, set down expressions of gratitude, how could we possibly repay our debt to the Buddha?

You will not find your mission by standing still. The only way to find it is by challenging yourself in something - I would almost say it does not matter what. Then by making consistent effort, the direction you should take will open up before you quite naturally, just as wide, new horizons open…

Reading a piece of mirror got me through a lot when I first moved to Canada. I still have to find the courage to ask myself what I should be doing at this very moment. Is it writing on tumblr? I doubt -_-

"Friendship depends on you, not on the other person. What matters is what you put into a friendship, not what you get out of it."

— Ikeda (via splitending)

"There is a Russian proverb that says, ‘It is no use to blame the looking glass if your face is awry.’ Likewise, your happiness or unhappiness is entirely the reflection of the balance of good and bad causes accumulated in your life. You cannot blame others for your misfortunes."

— Daisaku Ikeda, My Dear Friends in America, p.100 (via sgi-inspiration)

"We are all human beings, whatever our positions. If we open our hearts and speak with sincerity, we can communicate and touch others on the deepest level. World peace starts with trust between one individual and another."

Exactly how i feel with hatred towards whole intuitions and people who don’t share the same beliefs as me.
